• Since 1 May 2023, Suriname reinstated the visa requirement for Indian passport holders.

• The appropriate category for tourism is the Suriname eTourist Visa.
• The entire application is submitted electronically through the official Suriname/VFS eVisa system.
• Original passport submission to an Embassy is not normally required.

• A travel itinerary showing intended arrival and departure dates is mandatory.
• A fully purchased airline ticket is not mandatory at the initial application stage unless specifically requested by Suriname’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Indian passport holders must also be prepared to provide:
• A Letter of Guarantee or Invitation from:
A company registered with the Suriname Chamber of Commerce
OR
A person residing in Suriname
AND
• Proof of a paid hotel reservation covering the entire stay for tourism/business purposes.
This is an India-specific requirement published by the Government of Suriname and should not be omitted from the Tripex checklist.

USD 25 per person per day

Travel Insurance:
• Valid travel or health insurance covering the entire duration of stay in Suriname is required under the official Tourist eVisa document guidance.
• The insurance should remain valid throughout the intended visit.
Yellow Fever:
• A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is not automatically required solely because the traveller holds an Indian passport.
• Suriname requires Yellow Fever vaccination evidence where a traveller arrives within 6 days after leaving or transiting through a country with infected/endemic Yellow Fever areas.
• The actual requirement therefore depends on the traveller’s route and recent travel history.
• Travellers transiting through Yellow Fever-risk countries should verify the requirement before departure.
Immigration and Customs Form:
• All passengers travelling to and from Suriname must complete the Immigration and Customs Form (ICF).
• This requirement also applies to children and babies.
• The ICF can be completed up to 3 days before arrival in or departure from Suriname.
Employment Documents:

Not listed as a standard mandatory Tourist eVisa document.
Aadhaar Card:
Not listed as a mandatory Suriname Tourist eVisa document.
Invitation Letter:
For Indian passport holders, the Government of Suriname specifically publishes an additional Letter of Guarantee or Invitation requirement.
Therefore, unlike many other nationalities, Tripex should include this requirement for Indian applicants.
Visa Approval:
• eVisa approval does not guarantee entry.
• Final admission into Suriname remains at the discretion of the Suriname Immigration Service at the border.

Description
Description:
Indian ordinary passport holders require an eVisa before travelling to Suriname for tourism.
Suriname reinstated the visa requirement for Indian citizens from 1 May 2023. Therefore, Indian ordinary passport holders must not use the Entry Fee-only route available to many other nationalities.
The standard Suriname Tourist eVisa is currently issued as a Multiple Entry visa valid for 3 months, with a maximum permitted stay of 90 days.
The government visa fee is USD 60 and the VFS service fee is USD 18, making the current standard online cost USD 78.
The application is completed entirely online and the approved eVisa is delivered electronically. Physical passport submission to an Embassy is not normally required.
Suriname has additional entry requirements specifically affecting Indian passport holders. Indian travellers should have a Letter of Guarantee or Invitation from a person or registered company in Suriname and proof of paid hotel accommodation covering the entire stay.
Travellers must also carry a round-trip ticket, sufficient funds, valid travel/health insurance and complete the mandatory Immigration and Customs Form before travel.
