Trinidad and Tobago

• Indian ordinary passport holders require a visa to visit Trinidad and Tobago.

• India is not included in the current official list of countries whose citizens are exempt from Trinidad and Tobago entry visas.

• Indian tourists can apply online through the Trinidad and Tobago Ministry of Homeland Security eVisa system.

• The visa is electronic. Once approved, it is sent to the applicant by email.

• There is no physical visa sticker or passport endorsement during the application stage.

• The applicant should print the approved eVisa and carry it while travelling.

• Passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of travel to Trinidad and Tobago.

• A clear passport bio-data page must be uploaded.

• A digital passport-size photograph is required.

• The official eVisa system accepts JPEG, PNG or BMP photographs within its specified technical requirements.

• Supporting documents must generally be uploaded in PDF format.

• The official system limits supporting-document uploads to a maximum of 20 files, with individual file-size restrictions.

• Evidence supporting the purpose of the visit must be provided.

• For tourism, the applicant should provide confirmed hotel, guesthouse or other accommodation evidence.

• If staying at a private residence, details of the private accommodation should be supplied.

• If staying with friends or relatives, an invitation letter may be required. The official supporting-document list states that an invitation letter should give the purpose of visit, address, contact information and financial responsibility.

• A valid return ticket is an official supporting-document category for the eVisa.

• In certain cases, Trinidad and Tobago Immigration may require a Landing Deposit or Security Bond instead of or in addition to ordinary departure evidence.

• A financial statement is included in the official eVisa supporting-document list.

• Indian tourists should therefore provide recent bank statements or equivalent financial evidence showing sufficient funds for the visit.

• A job letter may be requested. The official eVisa document list states that the job letter should not be more than 3 months old.

• Updated official tourist-visa guidance specifically identifies an employment letter and bank statement as tourist supporting documents.

• Self-employed applicants should provide appropriate business and financial documents where necessary to establish their circumstances.

• Students should provide education/enrolment evidence where appropriate.

• Unemployed applicants can apply but should clearly demonstrate who is funding the trip and provide appropriate financial/sponsorship evidence.

• Income Tax Returns and Form 16 are not specifically listed as universal mandatory eVisa documents.

• Aadhaar card is not listed as a standard mandatory Trinidad and Tobago eVisa document.

• Travel medical insurance is not listed as a standard mandatory eVisa document on the current Immigration Division checklist. Comprehensive travel insurance is nevertheless recommended.

• A vaccination certificate is not listed as a universal standard Tourist eVisa upload requirement. Current health requirements should be checked before travel, particularly if travelling from or through a country subject to public-health controls.

• Children/minors may need a birth certificate.

• For minors, the passport bio-data page of the parent/legal guardian may also be required.

• Custody or guardianship documents are required where applicable.

• The Immigration Division can request additional documentation or require documents to be resubmitted in person.

• Once an eVisa application has been paid for and submitted, the applicant cannot amend and resubmit the same application.

• Approved or refused application status is communicated by email.

• The approved electronic visa is attached to the approval email.

• From 17 March 2026, all travellers entering or departing Trinidad and Tobago must complete the Online Arrival/Departure Card before travel.

• The online Arrival/Departure Card is free and can be completed up to 72 hours before travel.

• After submission, the traveller receives a receipt containing two QR codes, which should be saved and presented to Immigration and Customs.

• Holding an approved eVisa does not guarantee admission to Trinidad and Tobago.

• The Immigration Officer at the port of entry makes the final entry decision.
